“To injure an opponent is to injure yourself. To control aggression without injury is the art of Aikido”

- Morihei Ueshiba, founder of Aikido

Jikishinkan ("Direct Mind") Aikido dojo is a non profit organization devoted to the teaching and practice of Aikido, a powerful yet compassionate martial art and spiritual discipline where control is achieved through blending with, rather than confronting the energy of the attack. Our practice includes both adult classes and a comprehensive youth program for ages 6 - 13. Founded by Sensei Joseph Jarman in the late 80s, the dojo currently operates under the direction of Stewart Johnson Sensei, a long-time student of Sensei Jarman and holder of Sandan (third degree black belt) in Aikido.

We are part of the Aikido World Alliance, a national Aikido organization founded by Andrew Sato Sensei.
